How to Pack for Colorado

In the same vein as my last post, here are some things to keep in mind when preparing to come to the Centennial State.

1. The weather is finicky. Prepare for rain, sun, wind, and mild cold. For the past month, we have had absolutely lovely weekdays-- 70-80 degrees, cloudless, maybe a little breezy, but still shorts/skirt weather-- and the weekends have been 50-65 degrees, cloudy, and rainy without fail. Bring clothes that you can layer so you can bundle up/strip down as necessary. Bring a raincoat or an umbrella, sunglasses, and sunscreen just to be safe.

2. The air is dry. Humidity is basically non-existent. You know how dry you feel on an airplane? The feeling probably won't end once you disembark. Arlen cannot survive out here without a constant supply of chapstick and lotion (and he's already been here for four years!).

3. Denver isn't called the Mile-High City for nothing. You will experience elevations between 5,200 and 5,400 feet above sea level in the Denver/Boulder/Longmont/Lyons area. The air is thinner up here. Don't overexert yourself and drink plenty of water.

That's all I can think of for now. I will add more if I think of anything!
